Posted mission
7 last night. Check it out if you missed it.
HOLY SHIT, I'm SO TIRED!!!!!!!!
This past week has been insane and it's only going to get more
insane. First off, as you all know, my lifestyle has been going
to bed between 4am and 6am, and waking up somewhere between
12:30pm and 1:30pm. Aaahhh...that's living. Well, as we've discussed,
it's really a normal work day, but the sun is in the wrong place.
The last two days, I've been waking up at 6am, so as you can
imagine, it's been nearly impossible, but I've done it. Here's
a tricky detail about my alarm clock - you can only hit snooze
a limited amount of times before it gives up on you and just
stops going off. What the fuck is that about? Shouldn't
it be up to me when I want the alarm to stop going off? Now,
I have to count how many times I hit it because if I keep going
enough times, it's over - I've overslept and whatever I was
getting up for is completely ruined.
I was on the radio twice. Kiss 108FM and Jammin 94.5, and it's
been amazing. It's actually started to get some wheels turning
about a possible direction with my life, and any direction is
great. According to my family, you have to see people do or
talk about what they do, and if they love it, you need to find
out why. You may end up discovering you love it to. And once
that, "Hey, I could do that," starts to twirl about
your thoughts, you start researching. We'll get into this more
later.
So, I'm moving in five days. There has been several signs from
the universe that this is a good idea. First, as soon as I found
the apartment, my cell phone ceased to have reception from my
current home. Then today the power went out on half of this
part of town. It made me realize what Postman is all about.
No technology. Could we survive? See, here's the deal, I had
a million and four things to do today on my three hour nap,
which we'll call "sleep" since it was in
between last night and this morning, and half of those things
involved my computer. I couldn't use it, so I got some food
and wanted to curl up and watch TV while I ate. Fine, no TV,
so I read. All good. Then I need to make phone calls, but my
cell phone is dying and I can't recharge the batteries without
electricity in the house. Actually, I can't even mind my phone,
so I go to use the houseline to call my phone and listen for
the ring, but all the phones in our house are cordless, and
cordless phone's don't work without the base being plugged in.
Hmmm...I thought about how strange it was to not be able to
contact anyone at all ever in any way. Yes, we rely entirely
too much on technology, but really, I don't care. I like it,
and I don't want to live without it. I don't care how they did
it in the olden days. Those days sucked. You have to bake every
damn thing from scratch, you have to spend the whole damn day
sweeping out all the dust, especially in the winter when all
the soot from the fireplace gets everywhere - it's that's the
only way to keep warm. I don't want to run a household without
technology. I get pissed when my hotmail doesn't go to the inbox
fast enough.
Jack and Tyson hate me. Their water is brown and it's fucking
freezing in this house. They will be happier when we move and
they can be all warm and cozy. They float kind of funny. They
keep their mouths by the top as if they're suffocating in that
murky water and are trying to rapidly evolve into having lungs.
I don't really know if they hate it. Apparently, their kind
is used to living in shallow puddles. It definitely looks like
a shallow puddle in there, so maybe they're happy. I think Kim
should take them for a little while, you know, just until I
get back on my feet. I'm a horrible mother. I can't even believe
my plants have hung on this long.
You know what sucks about moving into a place all your own?
Well, it sucks for me anyway - I don't own one fork. Not a pot
in my name. I don't have a toaster or a microwave. Damn it.
Oh, I forgot to tell you that I saw the greatest movie ever.
Kissing Jessica Stein. That actress who plays Stein is so natural.
I absolutely adore her. I just loved everything about that movie.
It is seriously quality. Sadly, I'm not sure what to say about
it. I just love that actress and hope to see her more. Her character
is absolutely adorable. Go rent it.
I need to nap. I'll write later. |
