I've
had a bad day, and I really wanted to focus on it, but instead,
I'm going to talk about American Idol as I'm watching it.
Ruben - God, that first song he sings was SO difficult. Could
there be more unpredictable chord changes? Jesus, that was
ridiculous. He sounds tired. I want him to win, but I know
he isn't going to. I know he'll have a long successful career,
no problem, but he's not winning this one.
Clay's first song - Okay, now, you all know I don't want Clay
to win. I just don't. Again, not because he's a bad guy. What
power behind his voice. Still, as much as I HATE to do this
- his first song sounded pretty good, and I have to admit
that. It was. He tone is great. He doesn't sound tired. His
pronounciation still makes me want to kill myself, but if
someone teaches him how to dull out his consonants and loosen
up his vowels and maybe NOT sing like he's on Broadway, then
I would be able to handle it a little better. I do love how
Simon how to squeeze in one last time that he sounds like
a musical and not a pop star. He's got to make that clear
in hopes that America will agree, but we all know that Clay
is America's dork hero. We all love a loser turned cool.
Ruben's second song. Beautiful. Sounded very different for
him. I liked it. Great crack at the end. That's hard to do.
Paula Abdul aneroxic? She looks terrible. What is WITH HER
ARMS?? SO thin, so frail. Hey, I bitch about J Lo, but at
least she's got a real body.
American Juniors and Fame. Yeah, I want to watch both. I'm
addicted to this bullshit. I can't help it. I LOVE talent
competitions and crazy parents.
Clay's second song. Clay, when a word as an E, you don't have
to push it so hard in case I think it's some other vowel.
What a beautiful song. We need to talk about the Beatles one
day, but I don't know if I can give them enough credit. I
mean, absolute geniuses. I'm thoroughly enjoying this show.
These songs are gorgeous to listen to.
See, Simon thinks they're all holding off, but I like to see
people sing for the sake of a beautiful song, not just showing
off ranges. I mean, it was nice to see Clay sing something
soft. I think it shows talent to sing softly and not be boring.
Shit. Ruben's final song. Not good. Boring as all hell. This
is depressing.
Clay won. No question. I need to just get over it, I guess.
Okay, Paula - I have a problem with her. She was the first
concert on my life, and I was the biggest Paula fan in the
world, but after Forever Your Girl, I don't know. Not feeling
her anymore.
I don't like Bridge Over Troubled Waters...I'm worried. "WatEEEEERRRRR"
Ugh. Why? You know what's annoying to me? How many little
girls are up his asshole now, with his posters on their walls,
but they would've tortured him in high school, putting rude
signs on his locker, shit like that. You know what? This is
not the best I've seen Clay. Paula, you're wrong. <laughing>
Clay closed his long, and his eyes fluttered for like TEN
MINUTES. Ugh. So annoying.
He had a good night though, even though Simon didn't think
so.
Okay, I need to post this now because I need to concentrate
on 24. Later. |
