Hey there,
loves. Sorry, I know I've been gone for a week. Well, not
so much gone, just not posting. A lot on my mind, and some
stuff I actually can't talk about here.
So, listen to this - my old roommate called me because the
post office tried to deliver my wallet to my old address.
Can you believe that? I got the slip, went to the post office
on Monday, and picked up my wallet with EVERYTHING STILL IN
IT. Now, granted my cards were cancelled and reordered, I
no longer have to go to the DMV or order new health insurance
cards. YAY. Got my poker slip back too. HAPPY! People keep
asking me if it restores my faith in humanity. I'm not so
sure yet. If whoever took it was just trying to get the cash
and then decided to mail it back - then am I supposed to be
impressed? Am I supposed to LIKE the guy/girl who stole my
wallet? The new theory is that someone grabbed it, saw there
was no cash, and then tossed it. Then a good person found
it and mailed it. Anyway, it's just so much nicer now that
it's done.
Now, I know the end of this entry may be about American Idol.
One of my bestest friends Laura on the East Coast is telling
me that Vonzell really proves herself tonight, and I'm SOOOO
excited to see it!! I love her. Anyway, in the meantime, I
would like to play: What I'd Buy and Do if I Found a Bundle
of Cash:
- Get a cut and color by my favorite stylist Natasha. I'm
talking full foils
- Buy a new cell phone and new head piece for it
- Get waxed
- Pay off my new lovely debt
- Buy new purses and shoes
- Get laser hair removal for under my arms (eeewww)
- Get a new shower curtain
- Get a new showerhead nozzle thingy
- Buy an ottoman - DAMN, I need one.
- Buy a whole bunch of new bathing suits
- Buy new running shoes
- New sheets
Okay, American Idol, let's go: Bo - consistent. Just always
great. Jessica, I actually thought she did better than they
said. What a unshakeable voice. She just impresses me with
how strong she STARTS songs. She doesn't need to warm up or
get into it. She starts solid. Anwar, shaky and pitchy, if
you ask me. Randy is so right, and I rarely agree with him.
Oh, Simon agrees too. I love when I think what Simon thinks.
Nadia: She's doing well. Great presence. I think she's missing
something that takes you from "That's great" to
"I can't get the hair to fall back down on my arms."
It's in her voice too because everything else is spot on.
God, Simon is so constructive. His advice is so great. Constantine
- I'm surprised by this song choice. He sounds better than
HE is, and I'm over other people more than him these days
(ugh, that should have never happened). He'll stick around
for a while longer because of all the dumb chicks who think
his rapist expression is hot. Ugh. YES, I'M JUDGING YOU! Simon
- why would you betray me??? Constantine over Bo? Just never
say that. At least he's not talking about his opinion, but
the opinion of his target audience. ARGH. What I like about
Nikko (since I'm forced to have an opinion), is that he's
never touched the bottom 3 after being the lowest of all the
guys before this part of the show. And I was into his performance
day (pitch problems here and there), but strong. Fanaroff
- he would have made stellar Bostonian, but I'm over him on
American Idol. But it makes me sad for him because he just
seems fragile. The look on his face when he's listening to
Simon who says he likes him. It's like he's trying so hard,
he's nailing those notes, and it was really heartbreaking
to see him so bummed out. It sucks. Carrie - see, her first
notes shaky? THIS is why I love Jessica. But Carrie makes
these notes sound SO high. I was just talking to my friend
Laura about this - she thinks that Carrie belts so high, and
I had to remind her that she can belt like half an octave
higher than her. Carrie makes it sound so impressive, and
she sounds beautiful. This song bored me though. Carrie going
to win this? I think so. She does have an It factor - something
you cannot teach or even explain. Like, WHY wouldn't Amanda
get this far considering how hot she is, how strong her voice
is? She's missing something you cannot explain. She's THE
example of that. Scott - so terribly off pitch I can't stomach
this. He has a strong voice, I KNOW, but can the guy lack
likeability more? Is there a human being out there interested
in having a conversation with him? Can you IMAGINE him in
interviews? Dude, is he throwing it tonight on purpose? He
sounds terrible. Vonzell - WAY more control. God, she gives
me fucking CHILLS!!! Why do I feel like I'm the only one this
fucking impressed with her. Look how happy she is up there?
Look how much she smiles and how REAL it is? What about those
notes??? I can't even TRY to hit them. I just did, and my
voice cracked so hard. It's impossible. Okay, so Scott go
home.
The Starlet - man, I think Katie is a terrible actress. Granted,
I don't know anything. This is why it's so fun to watch this
after AI because I feel like I'm right when I watch AI. When
I watch The Starlet, whenever I see a scene I think was well
acted, they tear the person apart, and when I think the scene
is just uncomfortably terrible, they compliment the person.
I'm always wrong. Hilarious.
Just so you know, watching this Mercedes chick being forced
to do some improv comedy by herself in front of those people
- seriously, my absolute worst nightmare.
Gotta run. Talk to you later!
