I’m experimenting with
using a blog vs a website. I told you all about this a while
back. Let me explain why. Firstly, let me say that I do love
my website. I love the look, the simplicity, the organization.
Oly designed it, and I love it. At the same time, it’s
a bit of a pain in the ass to post on it. I use a program
that is downloaded onto my computer. I can ONLY update from
my computer when using this program. The program takes about
nine years to upload. It does nothing automatically, so there
are so many link errors because I have to do all of them
myself. A lot of times that I write, I have to email my thoughts
over to myself and hope that I get the motivation to post
it by the time I get to my computer. It rarely happens. I’ve
written post after post, but never actually posted them because
I was no longer motivated by the time the goddamn program
uploaded onto my computer. This allows for more frequent
postings, more spontaneity. It has a different feel though.
Very…bloggy. I’m leaving it to the very busy,
very talented, and very generous Oly to help me out in making
it look better. It’s amazing that he does this since
I have nothing to do for him in return. The man’s an
honorary Trespicio. The brother we never had in my family.
I guess taking time out from graduate school and all the
homework just to help me have a whole new website for no
real reason other than it just being cool to not have to
depend on Dreamweaver is just what real brother’s do.
Anyway, this shit is WAY over my head, and apparently a little
over his, according to him. We’re having a hard time
getting the organization correct. Surfing around it isn’t
necessarily self-explanatory. I want to make sure that when
navigating around it, it’s crystal clear how to get
from one place to the next. Anyway, I’m going to do
whatever I can to try to make it work, which involves copying
and pasting every entry I’ve ever had onto this blog.
Yeah, as it turns out, there are a lot of them in the last
couple years. Shit. Okay, I’m going to get going on
that. Also, I have this first cold I’ve had in forever.
Miserable. Always too hot or too cold. Goddamn nose running
nonstop. General groggy feeling. Of course, unless this takes
a dramatic turn for the worse between now and tomorrow morning,
I’ll still be going to work. Why? Because THAT’S
WHAT YOU DO, PEOPLE! Unless you HAVE to stay home to get
better because you’re incapable of working, then you
go to work. You don’t stay home just because you "don’t
feel good." No one ever feels good about going to work,
but you still go. Work ethic, people. Look into it.
Okay, I’m going to start posting while I secretly pray for the Farmers
Market Teriyaki jerky to arrive at my doorstep. |
